Aims and Scope

ROSSICA. Literary Contacts & Connections is focusing on the study of Russian-foreign literary connections, contacts, transnational literary influence and exchange. The journal’s priority is classical academic research in literary history: reconstruction of personal and institutional literary contacts, publishing policy, translation studies, comparative literary studies, reception of Russian literature abroad and world literature in Russia / USSR, etc. The journal aims to publish new materials: archival documents, literary texts, epistolary, diaries, documents as addenda to academic articles. We also welcome contextual studies that combine history and theory of literature with biography studies, imagology, sociology, cultural studies, history of art, social and political history, etc. thus providing a wider theoretical framework and enhancing our conceptual tool kit.

The structure of the journal implies both permanent and optional sections that correspond to the main areas of research.

The Editorial Board strives to consolidate the professional community providing scholars whose interests are connected with intercultural literary dialogue with a specialized academic periodical and advance this branch of study in Russia and throughout the world.
